Improving Recognition and Care for Fibromyalgia by Will Rowe Friday, February 20, 2009 The Food and Drug Administration recently approved a third drug indicated for treatment of fibromyalgia. Milnacipran, made by Forest Laboratories and Cypres Bioscience, is a selective serotonin and norepinephrine dual reuptake inhibitor. It will be available to consumers in March. Pain Sensitivity Increases With Opioids Treatment 19 Mar 2009 Use of opioid pain medications may contribute to an increase in sensitivity to some types of pain, according to an Australian study published in The Journal of Pain.
